11:06:36 مGeomatics is the scientific name given to the science and techniques related to urban data in their digital form, including urban surveys, urban spatial information systems containing collection of urban information, processing and analysis, display measurement, cartography and management of urban data. This specialization is a natural extension to urban planning. It contains a variety of techniques associated with the specialties related to construction such as spatial planning, environment construction, architecture, engineering, geology, land and property development, environmental planning and others.
Thus, it is essential for every science-related construction and place that rely on urban data such as survey, remote sensing and aerial maps , spatial information systems and global positioning systems (GPS)
Department Objectives:
• Rehabilitation of qualified graduates in the field of Geomatics.
• Establishment of a specialized scientific base to do researches related to Geomatics and nationalization of its technology to use it to address urban, environmental and social issues at the local, regional and national levels.
• Contribute to the necessary expertise to deal with the expected and complex data to be directed toward the decision-making process.
• Support existing and emerging urban observatories.
• Support for university-based scientific sections that deal with urban and environmental information.
• The composition of a specialized reference for the urban techniques and data expected in Saudi Arabia.
Its linkage with the objectives and message of the College:
In addition to the department of geometrics, the College of Environmental Designs contains three other departments: the architecture, urban and regional planning, and environment construction. All these are specialties based on the design aspects of the various components of architecture. The Department of Geomatics supports those specialties by the latest urban and technical developments and expected data of which Geomatics is an important.
Admission Requirements of the Department:
1. passing the introductory curricula with VERY GOOD at least.
2. Passing the entrance examination of the Department.
